EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE: From Concepts to Reality

The AOD field, like most other areas of professional endeavour, relies increasingly on research to direct and shape policies, practice and service delivery. The challenge of translating research findings to day-to-day reality and of identifying best practice is an emerging contemporary issue which raises important issues from a workforce development perspective. Some of these issues are technical in nature, but others are philosophical and ideological.
